Gamma Function

The gamma function forms part of the definition of several distributions:

For non-integer values of p, solutions involving numerical integration or series techniques are CPU intensive, thus an approximation for values of p > 0 is used.

The return value of the Gamma function increases rapidly with increasing values of x, thus it is convenient to work with the natural logarithm of the function.
